It’s been a long time coming for this release...yes, its the last and FINAL track from Meat Katie’s artist album ‘Vibrator’...and if you ask us, we have saved the best for last. A collaboration with long time friend D Ramirez and label favourite Odissi, ‘Stop The Revolution’ is another hard-hitting 2-part package from Lot 49. This is the one you’ve been waiting for all year! Trust us.
First up on Part 1 is the slightly re-worked Original, this is a tough 4x4 number with a classic electro feel and an absolutely infectious bassline that pulses through the track keeping it at a steady heads down tech-funk level throughout. Odissi’s commanding vocal comes in and leaves no room for confusion, demanding that you will listen to what she has to say, and ‘You will never be able to stop the revolution.’ That’s fact.
Next up you’ll find one of our top new producers at the moment, Jamie McHugh. One of his tracks has already featured on Meat’s recent compilation and the follow-up is equally as good. A techno-based twist on the original, Jamie has taken the track to a deeper dimension with a dubby, squelching, gritty bassline that seems to be constantly building throughout the track. Utilising bits of the vocal, he makes a big statement here for a real ‘down and dirty’ relentless feel.
On the flip, we’ve enlisted one of our favourite American exports, the Bassbin Twins, turning in an almost Techno- Garage (the good kind) feel with their take on the track. This is taking the term remix to a new and perverse level, with a slightly bouncy feel this track would sit nicely among anything Switch could offer. It’s an energetic workout of big beats, filthy stabs, and vocal snippits.
And now over to Part 2 featuring the absolutely storming remix from none other than Dubfire (one half of the legendary Deep Dish). This one has already caused some major waves with multiple compilation licenses all over the world namely Chris Liebing’s latest comp, and support from some of dance music’s biggest players, including Pete Tong. Dubfire’s remix is a deep, techno-based take which starts as a slow burner, building to a filtered crescendo and coming back down again to keep that cool minimal vibe going throughout.
For the second track on Part 2 we give you a breakbeat filth-fest courtesy of our very own 30Hz. Gritty synths laid over stabbing beats and a pulsing bassline that would cause even the most hardened Digitalism fan to choke on their cafe latte. Accentuated by filtered vocal stabs makes this one for the peak time crowds! This is the Tech-Funk feeling at its very best.
And for digital-only release, we’re including a stonking 2 more mixes! (This might be the biggest release in the history of dance music)...
The first comes from Kid Blue with his straight-up breaks banger...pumping beats and rolling bass – what more could you need?
And the second digital track comes from Bobby Lorenz on the tech-house tip, with a bouncy electronic feel making it accessible for any dancefloor!
‘Stop The Revolution’ is available to buy on Vinyl from all good Vinyl stockists and all of our digital partners from the 1st of October.
