Boston native and London based Kelly Sylvia comes correct with a second stomping EP released on her own underground imprint, S*mplified Recordings. Musae is a 3 track package with a little something for everyone sitting on the deep and techier side of the house fence.

The original mix of the title track, Musae is a percussive bumper with hard stabby synths leading the groove relentlessly before vocal snippets of Gonna make you sweat boom out of the speakers. The K-One Inspired Dub is the more stripped down mix with emphasis on solo drums and subtle minimal Korg sounds softening the lead synth, leaving room for a deep swing and grooving bassline. Entre Nous rounds off the package with a of a nu-skool twist on an old school east coast vibe and more trademark stabby vocals. A late night rendez vous with a seductive and almost ethereal feel.

You don't need to listen intently to hear that this sophomore effort - packed with just as much confidence as her first EP and with as much stylistic deepness as she's always been known for in her DJ sets - defies the theory that beginners only succeed with luck. More to come from this talented and quickly rising new producer in 2011.
